Procurement Summary:
The Work required for this Project includes:
1. The dredging of the Fife ditch from an area south of 4th Street to an area north of Taylor Way to remove sediment and vegetation from the ditch.
2. The excavation of +/- 12" of material in an area of invasive plant species mainly comprised of Reed Canary Grass and Yellow Flag Iris.
3. The excavation of +/- 6" of material in the area of debris laden soil. This area will contain general refuse, batteries, clothes, tools, sporadic drug paraphernalia, building materials and other debris left over from a former homeless encampment clean up.
4. All material from 1 thru 3 above will be combined on site and taken to LRI's facility located at 304th and Meridian for disposal. The Port will pay LRI directly for all associated tipping fees and applicable tax.
5. The excavation of +/- 24" of material at a pocket of slag like material. This material shall be removed prior to any other ground disturbing activity within 10' of the anticipated boundary of the material. This material will be direct loaded into trucks and taken to LRI for disposal.
6. The removal of approximately 80% to 90% of the trees on site. Trees, or portions of them that have human impacts (laden with screws, anchor bolts, metal brackets, wires, etc. or covered with invasive plant material will be removed from the site, without chipping, to an appropriate disposal facility. Non-Impacted tree branches, trunk sections, stumps and root wads shall be salvaged, mulched on site and taken to an adjacent Port facility for stockpiling for future reuse. Trees marked to stay shall have tree protection installed around them as shown.
7. Disturbed areas of the site and the side slopes of the ditch shall be planted and restored as noted.
